Quiet. Calm. Serene. Zen. The California Highlands Addiction Treatment facility is truly one-of-a-kind, nestled in a beautiful natural setting that promotes healing. We welcome you to learn more about our facility and the benefits a calming, positive atmosphere can provide.
The residential treatment program at California Highlands lasts between 30 and 60 days. During this time, clients are welcomed into our luxurious facility. The experience of our center is important, because our clients are important and deserve to be comfortable. Residential treatment is a huge step and the amenities should be the least of an individual’s worries. Many say our setting feels like a spa or a vacation home, and part of the reason for this is that our residential facility is situated on 32 acres of private, beautiful landscape. Clients can take part in plenty of nature-based activities and therapies while in our residential program.
While at our treatment center, you will share a room with at least another guest, and will be provided with the privacy you deserve. We provide all the linens, all your meals, and all the comforts of home.
When you first arrive at our facility, you will go through an assessment process during which your needs will be determined. We will then work with you to develop the treatment plan that is right for you. The first stage of recovery is usually detox, where you will be supervised 24/7 and provided with supportive care while your body is cleansing itself of drugs and alcohol. After detox comes the heart of addiction treatment, when you will develop skills you will need to live without your substance.
Fellow clients often have much in common and provide invaluable support. The group therapy sessions can ensure clients know they are not alone.
With a staff of talented therapists, California Highlands provides personalized treatment for clients to help them address emotional issues that contribute to addiction.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) addresses negative thoughts and actions associated with addiction. With CBT, clients learn practical strategies and skills to combat old habits.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy focuses on the triggers that lead to substance abuse. It also involves meditation and a highly supportive relationship between client and therapist.
This technique identifies key issues but also works to encourage clients to think more positively and embrace changes that can improve their lives.
Meditation and staying in the present are core concepts of many successful recovery programs. California Highlands clients learn how to incorporate these practices in their daily lives.
Addiction is often described as a family disease. Clients can start to heal some of the wounds of addiction with family therapy sessions.
Addiction treatment doesn’t stop when the client leaves the facility. California Highlands has programs to prevent relapse and ensure success.
Our therapy sessions are far from boring or mundane; our energetic staff, a wonderful group of fellow clients, and the beautiful atmosphere at our location all combine to make a recovery experience that will change your life.
Our small group sizes make for an intimate setting for recovery, and you will make some lifelong friends while you are here. Fun activities will be part of your day, including a multitude of recreational activities–yoga, gym, swimming, and hiking. You are in good hands at California Highlands. We have a great team of psychiatrists and experienced and highly educated therapists and staff.
When your time at California Highlands is over, you must leave prepared for success. After care planning will be part of your recovery program, so that you can have resources in place for when you complete our program and return home. After care options include sober living homes, long term counseling and support, and support groups. We will encourage you to stay connected to others after residential treatment, and we will also provide you with the tools to make that happen.
If you are like most of our clients, you will spend just over a month with us, but we care about your future as well. We will always be available if you need an extra hand or need to return to us for any reason.
