Detox

Once your loved one is safely in rehab, we can begin the healing process. The first phase of treatment is detox, when the person will withdraw from their substance. Detox looks different for each individual, based on the amount and duration of their drinking. Detox should only be done in a safe, supervised setting like we offer at California Highlands. This allows the person to be monitored for serious side effects during detox and allows for early therapy and encouragement to take place to ensure they remain committed to rehab.

We first assess each and every client to make sure they are stable enough for a safe detox. During withdrawal, we offer supportive care, healthy meals, and allow for plenty of rest so that the body can heal

Rehabilitation

After detox comes the heart of alcohol rehab. This is the time when your loved one will learn and grow in their sobriety the most. Our rehab makes use of proven techniques for recovery, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Our therapies are offered in both group and individual settings. We also encourage family participation in our therapies and other activities so that you can be a part of the healing process and benefit from treatment as well.

During alcohol rehab, your loved one will live at our facility and be supervised around the clock. Located in central California, our residential treatment facility is truly one of a kind. Breathtaking landscapes, serene nature, and a positive atmosphere come together to make our location perfect for recovery. We utilize our location to your loved one’s advantage, providing a calm, clear setting that facilitates healing.

After Care

The disease of alcoholism takes weeks, months, and sometimes years to manage. We do not rush the recovery process because we know this all too often leads to failure. We also do not promote the idea that once your loved one has completed our residential program they are done and do not need to come back. Aftercare is a vital step in the alcohol rehab process and we make sure each and every one of our clients is well prepared for what happens after treatment.

During alcohol rehab, your loved one will learn about their alcohol dependence, what caused it, what continues to fuel it, and how to take control of it. A large part of the healing process is identifying the root of the disease and then working through all the troubled areas of the person’s life.
